LUMBAR DISC HERNIATION and RISK FACTORS

Lumbar Disc Herniation

It is the sliding or overflow of the gelous cartilage tissue that functions as a pad between two spines. This cartilage piece dislocates, puts pressure to the nerve that extends our leg and foot, causing pain complaints. Leg pain increases with coughing, straining, sneezing. Most of the patients get rid of this problem by resting, drug therapy. If pressure continues, complaints such as weakness of legs, sensation problems, reduced reflexes, urinary incontinence may occur. Treatment is surgical.
