He was born in 1963 in Akhisar. He completed his high school education at Bornova Anatolian High School (formerly İzmir Maarif Koleji). In 1981, he began his medical education at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine and graduated in 1987.
Between 1992–1997, he completed his residency at the Department of Neurosurgery, Bakırköy Mental and Nervous Diseases Hospital. In 1997, he prepared his thesis on “C6 Rat Glioma Model” and then started working as a chief resident in the same clinic. Throughout his career, Dr. Kemerli has focused particularly on Spinal Surgery and Brain Tumor Surgery. In 2003, he worked with Prof. Lou at Spital Zollikerberg University (Switzerland) on Endomicrodiscectomy (Closed Disc Herniation Surgery) and Spinal Stabilization.
Carrying his experience in microsurgery to the present day, he has significant expertise in Spinal Surgery and Tumor Microsurgery. When appropriate to patient indications, he also applies various non-surgical techniques for spinal diseases. Dr. Kemerli is a board member of the Turkish Organ, Tissue, and Cell Transplantation Association and is interested in Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Exosome Therapies. He sees patients at his private practice in Bakırköy, Istanbul and performs surgeries in A-plus hospitals equipped with advanced technology.
